How it works

A copy of your portfolio. A clearer choice.

Dotto tests changes in a separate, simulated version before you turn anything on.

Try a sample portfolio

Add your portfolio.

Pick a sample or enter what you hold. Dotto copies it into two portfolios that start from the same holdings at the same moment. Your original stays as it is; the twin follows your rules.

Both portfolios start from the same holdings, at the same moment.

Dotto checks before it suggests.

About once an hour, even when Dotto is closed, it looks at prices, your rules and the cost of any change. A change only goes ahead in practice when every check passes. Otherwise Dotto stays put and tells you why.

Checked before simulating

  • All prices availablePassed
  • Largest holding within limitFailed
  • Cash at or above minimumPassed
  • Holdings near targetFailed
  • Price is recentPassed
  • Trading availablePassed
  • Market sessionFailed
  • Estimated slippageFailed
Each check is code, not a model's opinion. A failed check means no trade.

You set the limits.

Largest holding, cash to keep, how much a trade may cost. Saving creates a new rule version, and earlier updates keep the version they used.

What a twin isn't

  • It isn't a track record.

Results are simulated and only cover the time since your twin started. Nothing is backfilled.

  • Its costs are estimates.

Fills use quoted bid and ask prices plus assumed fees. A real trade could cost more.

  • Its limits aren't guarantees.

Rules decide what Dotto may suggest. They don't prevent losses from market moves.

  • It isn't advice.

Presets are illustrations, not recommendations to buy or sell anything.

Questions, answered.

What is a twin?

A parallel, simulated copy of your portfolio. It starts from exactly the same holdings at the same moment, then follows your rules. It doesn't own or move any assets.

Is any of this real money?

No. Everything in this release is practice. No deposits are accepted, no wallet can be charged, and no real trades are placed. Simulated results can differ from live trading.

Where do the prices come from?

From Robinhood's public Stock Token API: bid and ask prices adjusted for each token's corporate-action multiplier. Dotto checks how old each quote is and won't simulate a trade on a quote older than your rules allow.

How does Dotto decide?

With deterministic rules in code: position limits, minimum cash, drift, slippage, cost, liquidity and daily limits. No AI model is used for decisions in this release, and every decision can be re-run from its saved inputs to get the same result.

Why did Dotto make no trade?

Leaving the portfolio alone is often the better decision. Dotto skips a trade when it isn't needed, when prices are stale or the market is closed, or when the estimated cost or slippage is above your limits. The decision record says which.

How are trading costs estimated?

A simulated sale fills at the quoted bid and a purchase at the ask, so the spread is paid. Dotto also adds an assumed 0.3% venue fee and an assumed $0.05 network cost per trade, because no onchain venue quote is available yet. Estimates can differ from actual trading costs.

Why can't I see 30-day results?

Because they don't exist yet. Dotto only compares what it has actually observed since your twin started. It doesn't backfill history or show backtests as performance.

What are Stock Tokens?

Robinhood Stock Tokens are tokenized debt securities issued by Robinhood Assets (Jersey) Limited. They provide economic exposure to underlying shares or ETFs, not ownership rights in those shares or ETFs, and may not be available in your country.

Where is my data stored?

On Dotto's server, tied to this browser by a private cookie. There's no account, email or name. You can export or delete everything from Settings. Share links store only what you chose to share, until you turn them off.
